Our Story
The Legacy of the Norwegian International Entrepreneur Conference - NIEC

Our Origin Story
In the heart of Norway's vibrant entrepreneurial landscape, the Norwegian International Entrepreneur Conference (NIEC) was founded in 2011 by a visionary entrepreneur, Kristian Aartun. His belief that entrepreneurship should transcend the pursuit of profit to embody the creation of value became the cornerstone of NIEC. This ethos has not only shaped the conference but has also rippled through the global entrepreneurial community.
The Purpose-Driven Inception
Kristian Aartun's foresight was clear: businesses thrive when they serve a greater purpose. With this philosophy, NIEC was established to challenge the conventional metrics of success and to redefine the essence of entrepreneurship. The conference quickly became a beacon for those who dared to ask "why" and sought to build organizations that were about more than just the bottom line.
A Decade of Value Creation
Over the past 12 years, NIEC has been at the forefront of the entrepreneurial evolution, advocating for value creation through purpose. It has been a platform where like-minded individuals and companies converge to explore how intrinsic and extrinsic values can drive performance and success. The conference has consistently highlighted that the true measure of a business's success is not just in its financial returns but in the positive impact it has on society.
Embracing the Change of Times
Echoing the words of futurologist Adjiedj Bakas, "We are no longer living in times of change but in a change of times," NIEC has recognized the shift in the entrepreneurial paradigm. Purpose and meaning are now the linchpins of successful entrepreneurship. In this new era, NIEC has been a guiding light, illuminating the path for entrepreneurs to navigate these transformative times.
Celebrating 13 Years of Inspiration
As we commemorate the 12th edition of the NIEC, we reflect on a journey marked by inspiring talks, groundbreaking ideas, and the collective spirit of innovation. Each year, internationally awarded speakers grace our stages, offering insights and inspiration unparalleled by any other entrepreneur conference.
Looking to the Future
The NIEC continues to be more than just an annual event; it is a continuous celebration of entrepreneurial spirit driven by purpose. As we embrace the future, we remain dedicated to fostering a community where entrepreneurs can find meaning in their work and where businesses can be a force for good.
Join the Movement
We invite you to be a part of this extraordinary journey. Whether you are at the helm of a thriving enterprise or are in the early stages of your entrepreneurial path, NIEC is the place to ignite your passion, discover your purpose, and connect with the pioneers shaping the future of business.
